I am sharing a video showing the extraction of a long needle which had caused swelling, pain and abscess in the sternal region of a cow.

What do you do to prevent infection following this procedure? I normally work with small animals but I’m currently gaining cattle experience. I’m curious how you go about follow up, especially in a range situation, do you just use dissolving suture and inject a long-term antibiotic?
